Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, also known as Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed by the label's debut female singer for Dreamville Records by J. Cole. In October of 2016, Ari Lennox released her debut EP Pho. This was the moment that she received recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It was released in May 2019. Ari Lennox has uploaded her music on the internet since 2012 following the debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014, she released new music through the internet including Bound. On July 21st, the 21st of July in 2015 Omen featured her on Elephant Eyes the track"Sweat It Out. J. Cole was interested in her talents and was keen to use it in conjunction with Rihanna. On December 8 it was announced that she was signed to Dreamville Records. In the release album Revenge of the Dreamers II, she appeared on the track Backseat alongside Cozz. On October 21, 2016 the debut EP of Ari Lennox was released titled Pho. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change and also performed on her own 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as an opening performance. In 2018 she guest-starred on two tracks with her label-mates EarthGang in the video for Nothing but the Best. and Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first single Whipped Cream off of Shea Butter Baby on July 16. The music video was released, followed by a music video September. Then, in November, she released the singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. Two more singles were released by her on 11/13, titled Pedigree and No One. The singer appeared alongside Cole in The Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby On November 16and later made the track available as a solo single for the album she released her debut. The song, released with a video uploaded to YouTube on February 20, 2019, has been viewed over 3 million times within the first 7 days. In December 2018, she performed as a supporting act on The From East Atlanta With Love Tour together with 6LACK.
